WORKSHOPS FOR SCHOOLS
Bullying Prevention Training for Minnesota School Staff
Bullying doesn't wait until class starts — it shows up where supervision is the thinnest: recess, the lunchroom, after-care, and the bus ride home. PeaceMaker Minnesota trains every adult in a child’s day, from teachers to bus drivers to parents, to notice sooner, step in with confidence, and teach students to resolve conflict before it grows.

ADULT WORKSHOPS
Anti-bullying training for schools, from the classroom to the bus
Students take their cues from the adults around them. When every adult responds to bullying the same way — calmly, early, and every time — students learn it won't be ignored. We deliver each training in person for your whole team.
For school staff
Teachers, paraprofessionals, recess and lunchroom supervisors, office and support staff.
Understanding and Intervening in Bullying Behavior
Bullying prevention training for school staff that goes past the definition to what to do next. Staff learn to tell ordinary conflict from bullying, step in early, and follow through, so students see the same response in every room and every hallway.
What staff will learn
For bus drivers
One adult, eyes on the road, a long ride. The bus is one of the hardest places to stop bullying.
See Something, Do Something: bullying training for school bus drivers
School bus bullying prevention built for the driver's seat. Drivers learn what bullying looks like on a bus, how to prevent it before the wheels roll, and exactly what to do and say when it happens, without taking their attention off the road.
Fits alongside the student management training drivers already complete.
For parents
The same skills we teach kids, for the grown-ups at home.
The Peaceful Pen: a parent workshop for your school
Host a parent workshop that gives families peaceful communication skills they can use at home. Each session pairs short, practical teaching with guided writing prompts. No writing experience needed, and sharing is always optional.
BUILT FOR MINNESOTA SCHOOLS
Training that aligns with Minnesota's requirements, and changes the climate
Minnesota's Safe and Supportive Schools Act asks districts to train staff on bullying prevention. PeaceMaker Minnesota's workshop aligns with that requirement, is delivered in person with your whole team in the room, and builds a positive school climate where students take responsibility for themselves and one another.
What Minnesota law asks
Staff must retrain at least this often under Minnesota law.
New staff are trained within their first year.

Common questions from Minnesota schools
-
Minnesota law requires districts to train school staff on bullying prevention on a cycle of no more than three years, and to train new staff within their first year. PeaceMaker Minnesota's Understanding and Intervening in Bullying Behavior training aligns with that requirement and is delivered in person to the whole team.
-
The Safe and Supportive Minnesota Schools Act requires public schools to adopt a policy prohibiting bullying, respond to and investigate reports, and train staff to prevent and respond to it. The Minnesota Department of Education's School Safety Technical Assistance Center has the details for districts.
-
Start before the ride: set clear expectations and assign seats where needed. During the ride, drivers respond early and calmly and, if needed, stop the bus safely. After the ride, they report to the school so staff can handle the issue on the ground. Our See Something, Do Something training walks drivers through each step.
-
Write down what happened, when it happened, and who was involved. Write to the school principal, since the bus ride is part of the school day, and ask for the school's bullying policy and a follow-up date. If your child is in immediate danger, call 911.
-
Bullying persists when adults miss it or respond differently from one room to the next. Schools prevent it by training every adult who supervises students and teaching students conflict resolution.
-
Talk with your child often, and listen more than you speak. Children who feel heard at home are more likely to tell you when something is wrong. The Peaceful Pen parent workshop teaches reflective listening, a practical skill for exactly those conversations.
-
No. Staff training, bus driver training, and parent workshops are open to any Minnesota school for a fee. Partnership is free and makes your school eligible for funded support from three student programs.
